\Uji tea is celebrated as one of Japan's finest teas, renowned for its exquisite fragrance. However, due to its high-quality standards, some tea leaves are not used. By repurposing these leaves and pairing them with vibrant preserved flowers, we have created stunning floral art to be enjoyed with both your eyes and nose.
Through the harmonious blend of "tea" and "flowers," we invite visitors to experience the timeless spirit of wabi-sabi, passed down through generations, while savoring Uji tea during your visit to Uji.

In this unique experience, you can select from a variety of materials, including tea leaves, preserved flowers, dried flowers, and other plant elements, to craft a one-of-a-kind "Chawaka" floral art piece in an original wooden box. Take home the enchanting fragrance and beauty of Uji tea as a memorable keepsake of your visit to Kyoto Uji. (Reservation required)

Group reservations are welcome, with a capacity of up to 30 people at our Chawaka workshop. For larger groups, we offer an outreach program to accommodate your needs.
We also provide SDGs workshops combined with the floral art experience, perfect for educational travel programs.
