The Temple of Flowers associated with the revered Eshin Sōzu, surrounded by flowers and tranquility throughout the seasons.
Eshinin Temple is believed to have originated as the ancient Ryuzen-ji Temple, founded by Kobo Daishi. It was later restored by the renowned monk Eshin Sōzu (Genshin), who compiled the Ojo-yoshu, and subsequently became known as Eshinin. Genshin is also thought to be the model for the monk from Yokawa who saved and guided the heroine Ukifune in the Uji chapters of The Tale of Genji. We invite you to view the blossoms of the temple that bloom throughout all seasons.
