Mimurotoji is widely known as the tenth place of pilgrimage of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage (33 temples). Flowers bloom in the garden throughout all four seasons and decorate Mimurotoji beautifully.
Mimurotoji is a special head temple of Honzan Shugen Sect where many people visit as the tenth place of pilgrimage of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage (33 temples). Located in the temple’s treasure room are five important statues of buddha from the Heian period. In the huge garden are seasonal flowers blooming in every season, giving Mimurotoji the names of “temple of flowers”, “Tsutsuji temple”, and “Ajisai temple”.
In front of the temple, statues of “Komausagi”, “Komahebi (a snakegod of financial luck and good will)”, and “Bull of Luck” are placed for visitors to enjoy. Beautiful autumn leaves welcome visitors in November. Mimurotoji is a great place for autumn colors as it is often referred to as “Autumn Leaves of Mimuroto”.
