At Ogura Funaei, we prepare live eels on-site and grill them over binchotan charcoal, creating perfectly crispy skin and tender, flavorful flesh. Our signature sauce, unchanged since the restaurant's founding, is carefully crafted to enhance the rich taste of charcoal-grilled eel.
In the summer, we offer not only eel but also dishes made with live sweetfish, live carp, and more. One of our most popular specialties is Umaki—an irresistibly delicious, generously portioned rolled omelet filled with eel, a favorite among our customers.
