Please enjoy “Uji-no-Midori”, a popular confectionery made with Uji tea, on the main approach to Byodoin with the beautiful scent of tea surrounding.

“Uji-no-Midori”, a popular confectionery that is reminiscent of the atmosphere of Uji in the morning mist of the Ujigawa river, is a result of the skills used in Kyoto confectioneries and Uji tea. With the Uji Matcha bean paste that is wrapped in white bean paste, many people say that “Midori (green)” perfectly matches its visual. The name was written by Arima Raitei, Head Priest of Rinsaisou Shokokuji, and the image was drawn by Morita Rieko, a Japanese artist. Please enjoy both the package and the taste of “Uji-no-Midori”.
